Though there were traces of electronica in his old band, Mossyrock, Marc “Taperecorder” Francis has still taken a bit of a left turn with his new project. Just Ramble & Think of Ghosts, his pay-as-you-want debut album under the Taperecorder moniker, goes much deeper into laptop pop while keeping some elements of his older folk project in tact. The result is a record for all occasions, one that’s as bound to attract geeky acolytes of Warp Records as it is the twee audiences he’d found earlier in his career.
